In 1985, Carlo Ghisolfi bought a small plot of about 9 acres in the famous Bussia Park. Later, Carlo's son and grandson gradually acquired the surrounding 21 acres of vineyards. Ghisolfi's first wine, BaroloBriccoVisette, started in 1988. The name of this wine comes from the original 9 acres of fields. Before 1987, this land was used to grow grapes and other crops at the same time. At that time, Carlo's great-grandson Gianmarco Ghisolfi also joined the family business, and his father Attilio pooled the land to grow vines and started making wines of their own brand.
We know that making a great wine requires more than just a good winemaker. The most basic points are the land, vineyards and traditions passed down from generation to generation. This is why we put so much effort into the vineyard, from pruning to harvest, taking great care of the vines and maintaining the balance in all aspects.
In order to produce products that are as ecological as possible, copper and sulfide products with less environmental impact are used in vineyards for proper treatment. In order to maintain normal colonies in the soil, only organic fertilizers are used, weeds are controlled mechanically, and no chemical herbicides are used.
The most planted in the vineyard are the local traditional varieties: Nebbiolo, Barbera, Freisa, alongside Pinot Noir, a variety that is not common in this area.
